The first change for my family was we had better living conditions after my father told me that we would move to city at the age of seven. I hated the life where my family and I lived in the countryside. We did not have paved roads instead a road became muddy and slippery after the rain. Can you think about how difficult it is to walk on a road like this? Every time, my mother went to the farm, she put me on her back and walked in the muddy road. My mother’s feet always sank into the mud as she walked. It was not easy to pull out her feet, but after she pulled them out; we found that her shoes had sunk into the mud. When we finally returned home, we faced a house which was made with bricks and had been leaking for some time. Later, my family’s life had changed a little bit accompanied by the Economic Opening. My father decided to move to city in order to find a way to give my family better living conditions.
I was so grateful that my father made this decision; otherwise, I would not have enjoyed things like my school life and technology if I still lived in the country. A small but bright and comfortable house was the first thing we owned in the city. We did not need to pick up the pot to drain the rain anymore when it was raining. The most important change was my studies. The educational resources in the city were better than the country’s. I could enjoy my school life more. I had made more friends, and I had received a better education. I had also owned more convenient to enjoy the resources. Thanks to this move, I was no longer a girl who just sat on the tanabe and waited for my working parents to arrive home。
As the economy improved in my family, I gained an opportunity to the United States. A few years after we moved to the city, my father decided to start his own business. Starting a business was very hard for a person; however, my father was successful. His business enabled my family to have better conditions; for instance, television, sofa, fridge, computer gradually appeared in my house. Later, my parents hoped I could have a better development, so they decided to send me to a better place to continue my study —America. As a girl who always wanted to see the outside world, I felt very lucky that my dream had come true.
After the advocating the reform and opening up policy, the level of human life in China had a greatly improved. Just like my family and me, many Chinese moved from a country to a city, and I moved from city to a foreign country. Thanks to the reform and opening up policy, tremendous changes have taken place in our lives. I felt like I got second life in my lifetime. Without this policy, I think I would be a girl who is still live in the country; instead, I am a girl who is writing this essay in a foreign city. All of these affects are the important parts in my history.
I enjoyed the reading and it is a very good story.
